Lottery West COVID-19 Relief Fund: 'Strengthening & Adapting Organisations' Grant Now Open!

Heads up Western Australia! Round one of the LotteryWest COVID Relief 'Strengthening & Adapting Organisations' grant program is currently open, closing 21 September 2020. $10 million is up for grabs for qualifying Western Australian NFP (Not-For-Profit) organisations and community groups.


The objective of this grant program is to support NFP organisations and community groups to prepare for, and implement longer-term organisational changes. This support will foster a more innovative, collaborative and resilient network of NFP organisations and community groups that can better serve the needs of communities during and following the crisis.

Grant Streams:

There’s $10 million up for grabs under the three grant program streams:

  1. Organisational Capability & Governance

  2. Innovative Service Models

  3. Sector Collaboration.

Grant Outcomes:

Grant applications must seek to achieve one or more of the outcomes outlined below:

  1. Enhanced organisational governance and capability to be stronger and well positioned to respond to any further crisis;

  2. The development of innovative business models or service delivery models that support community organisations and the not-for-profit sector achieve greater impact;

  3. Enhanced collaboration across the not-for-profit-sector towards shared goals.

Key Information:

  • Round closes 21 September.

  • Available for WA based NFPs only

  • Large and small project funding available for:

    • Small grants may include support for working out how to adapt in order to be more effective and resilient, a ready to go, small scale initiative or developing bigger ideas which meet the program outcomes.

    • Larger grants may be for projects which support long-term change and or implementation of innovative, larger scale approaches which meet the program outcomes.

Governance & Capability Improvement

The level of scrutiny that is now applied to Directors on Boards has heightened due to a spate of recent corporate failures and related media scandals. Directors (including voluntary Directors) are responsible to ensure that appropriate and effective governance is applied.
